Premier League games will be back with a full slate of games the weekend of March 30, and the CleanSheet will be back next week Tuesday preparing for Match Week 30.

Contrary to what you might be thinking, the answer is NO, NO it is not international break across the world because the opening weekend of March Madness ⛹️begins. Although, what great timing for us here in the US (which makes up over 90% of CS readership) as the best tournament in sport has tipped off.

1992. Regardless of your age 1992 has had more of an influence on you, as sports fans, than you may realize.

🎶Bah-da-da-Dah-Dot-daaa-da-Daaah🎶. Instantly identifiable. Whether you recognize it or not, this song riff creates quite the emotional connection to the thrill of sports, spring, winning, losing and “on shining” moments. It all started in 1992 (YahooSports) when CBS held a competition to to find new theme music for its NCAA telecasts. Bob Christianson was the winner, and The Theme Song (YT) has become synonymous with NCAA basketball and with comedy sketches @BarstoolBigCast like it. What may be the biggest key to the song - CBS has kept broadcast rights for 40 years and they own the rights.

AND speaking of 1992, must’ve been something in the water that year.

UEFA was looking to better brand their European Cup with their commercial television partner. The result was the UEFA Champions League that also resulted in an iconic theme song, The Champions League Anthem. The anthem was written by Tony Britten in 1992, adapted from Handel’s anthem Zadok the Priest that is typically performed at the coronation of British monarchs. It also started in 1992…..(Wiki). Zinedine Zidane, the famous French player and manager, summarized the meaning of the anthem - “Magic, it’s magic above all else. When you hear the anthem, it captivates you straight away.” Maybe THE BEST walk out song - Live Theme Song. (YT)

Leeds United won the PL with 82 points.
Duke won the NCAA Men’s Basketball Championship over Michigan.

Whitney Houston had taken off with a top song, “I will always love you” and the movie “The Bodyguard”. You may recognize the bodyguard as a young John Dutton.
Mall of America opened in Minneapolis.
Bill Clinton was president.
Hurricane Andrew Cat5 pummeled the Bahamas, S Florida and Louisiana. (you know, climate change).
Cheers won the Emmy for best Comedy television show, it’s 10^th season.

USMNT.

USA 3-1 Jamaica.

A win is a win, but wow, expected more from this team. The USMNT went down 1-0 in the opening minute of the match and needed an own goal the very last minute (96’) to send it to an additional 30’ of extra time. That is when the US scored twice to seal the win.

CS HQ, Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA is pumped for Jack Gohlke of Oakland University, Milan Momcilovic of Iowa State as well as the Wisconsin Badgers, Tennessee Volunteers and even Marquette🤣.

Gohlke hit 10 3’s in Oakland’s upset of Kentucky. Here’s a great 41s on his journey.
