• Best Result of Match Week 5. 3-1 BHA over Man U. Big win for The Seagulls, big loss for The Red Devils in Manchester. At best the contest was even, but reality is BHA is that much better right now than one of the largest clubs in the world. Watch this amazing build up and ball control (90 sec) from BHA - 30 passes that led to a goal. Man United fans are short on patience, and the mood of the club is not in a good place.

• Victory from Defeat I. Tottenham looked to be headed to their first defeat of the season in the 73^rd minute going down 1-0 to Sheffield United, however 2 goals in extra time and they found the full 3 points. In the 8^th minute of stoppage time Brazilian national Richarlson tied the match (20 sec) and 2 minutes later Kulusevski hit the winner (20 sec).

• Victory from Defeat II. Villa scored 3 late goals, one in the 87^th minute and 2 in extra time to beat Palace 3-1. This brilliant goal (15sec) by Duran tied it up and maybe put a shot of adrenaline into Villa’s season.

• Biggest Disappointment. Chelsea. Broken record. Even without all the big-time spending ($500M+ in 18 months) this big of a club should have significantly better results than they have had. Here’s a good breakdown (3 min read) of some of the numbers.

• Best Debut? Callum Hudson-Odoi with this great goal in his first match with Forest. The 22 year old just signed (3 min read) from Chelsea after recovering from an Achille injury. • New American Owners. Everton majority shareholder Farhad Moshiri has agreed to sell all his shares to Miami based 777 Partners (3 min read). 777 has ownership stake in other leagues including Germany (Hertha Berlin), Italy (Genoa), and Brazil (Vasco da Gama)

• 165M People Watched 2023 Super Bowl - 115M in the USA, 50 outside the USA

• 550M people watched the world cup final

• 12M people watched the World Series, on average for each game of the series.

  • MLB seems to be growing. MLB.com streaming service has really taken off and they tout the following: Opening day 2023 was up 42% OVER the previous high with 172 Million minutes streamed. If you do a little math, 1 game is roughly 172 min (3 hours), so roughly 1M people watched MLB.TV in one day. This does not include the regional broadcasts for each team.

• 11M people watched the NBA Finals, on average for each game of the series.

  • The NBA has seen major increases in viewership internationally, for example Brazil has 4.5M subscribers to NBA Game Pass. Australia sits second. The Philippines say the NBA is their number 1 sport.

So - what’s most popular? It depends on how you count. What is clear is if you are looking to grow a business - there is growth for soccer in the USA and the growth in NFL, MLB and NBA will come outside the USA.
