Heavy Weights.

• Arsenal v Tottenham (Sun) - See Above.

• Liverpool v West Ham (Sun) - The Reds are big favorites but expect this one to be closer than what the “experts” think. Expect goals.

• Chelsea v Villa (Sun) - Chelsea cannot keep dropping points at home. Can Villa handle the added volume of playing in the Europa Conference League during the week?

Heavy Favorites.

• Man City v Forest (Sat) - Huge line if you want to take the Tricky Trees, +1700! Will City lose at home this year?

• Sheffield United v Newcastle (Sun) - More reasonable line as the Blades seem to keep things tight at home, +625 if you’d like to take them.

• BHA v Bournemouth (Sun) - Two south coast clubs, are BHA really that much better than Bournemouth? yes, but if you’d like to bet Bournemouth you can get +650.

• Burnley v Man United (Sat) - It's been a brutal run for Burnley, home or away. Gets no easier with United coming into Turf Moor. Burnley +400.

Good Match Ups.

• Palace v Fulham (Sat) - “Smaller” London Derby? 8 miles separate the South London and West London clubs. Winner get momentum on a top 10 run.

• Luton Town v Wolves (Sat) - More reasonable line as the Blades seem to keep things tight at home, +625 if you’d like to take them.

• Brentford v Everton (Sat) - This should be all Brentford, but a team that Draws that much can be had.

Fundamentally, there are 2 key concepts to understand when betting on a PL match.

• Pick what you think will happen

• Consider the ODDS

Pick what you think will happen.

• MoneyLine - Pick one team to win or pick a draw.

• Spread - Pick a team to win by a certain number of goals. If for example you pick Spurs to win by -.5 goals, that means Spurs must win by 1 or more goals for you to win your bet. If they draw or lose, you lose your bet. If the spread is -1.5 goals, you need Spurs to win by 2 or more goals.

• Total - Pick over or under the total goals in a game.

• Alternates - There are over 100 variations on what you can choose. You could pick the exact score, 2-0 Spurs win for example.

Consider the ODDS

• Odds are given as “minus” and “plus” and based on what would happen with a $100 bet.

• The LOWER the number, the more LIKELY the scenario is to happen. In other words, FAVORITES have the lowest number (negative numbers are the lowest).

EXAMPLES

• Villa to WIN -110: You must bet $110 to win $100.

• DRAW +250: A $100 bet wins you $250.

• Palace +295 to WIN: A $100 bet wins you $295.

Champions League RESULTS

Was mixed results for the Premier League.

• Man City beats Crvena Zvezda (Red Star Belgrade - Serbia) 3-1. Julian Alvarez. Winner of the world cup with Argentina, may not be a household name, but he is a star making a big impact. Who tee’s things up for Messi for Argentina, Alvarez. Who tee’s things up for Haaland for City, Alvarez. Who scored 2 to kick off this CL campaign, Alvarez. Goal (20 sec).

• Newcastle Draw at AC Milan. Big point on the road for NU return to the CL. One fans view.

• Man United lose to Bayern Munich 3-4. Another slow start for The Reds saw them down 2-0 at the half. A quick goal for United brought some hope but that was extinguished by Harry Kane’s 53^rd minute goal for Bayern.

• Arsenal beat PSV Eredivisie 4-0. The Gunners were in complete control going up 3-0 in the first 38 minutes. A nice return for Arsenal to the CL.

Europa League RESULTS

• Liverpool won at LASK 3-1. The theme continues, trail early 0-1 at the half and then dominate the second half with Darwin, Diaz and Mo all scoring.

• West Ham beat Topola 3-1. After also falling behind 0-1, scored 3 unanswered in the second half.

• BHA lost to Athens at home 2-3. Disappointing home loss as it will be interesting to see how BHA handles the big European stage and the extra volume of games.

Europa League RESULTS

• Villa lost at Legia 2-3. A dissapointing loss for Villa who hope to be a title contender in the league. Long way to go but giving up 3 goals is not what Villa was looking for.

Best Bets 💰

Season Gains/Losses -$168.

Brentford to WIN -126 v Everton. $75.

Brentford continues to dominate the PL in terms of statistics, leading the league in expected goals. Even without their leading scorer they are creating more chances than any other team. Expect them to handle Everton, lay the points.

Palace to WIN -111 v Fulham. $22.

Fulham has been finding ways to get points. Palace has been creating lots of chances but not converting those chances into goals. They have had more success at home and Palace gets right.

Villa to WIN +320 at Chelsea. $20.

Until Chelsea proves they can put it together, take the odds.

Sheffield to WIN +600 or Draw +350 v Newcastle. $20 each.

Sheffield United has been in every game and finds a way to get points at home after Newcastle has to play Champions League mid-week and then head out on the road to play in a street fight kind of match.

BHA to WIN -285 v Bournemouth. $94.

Too much speed and goal scoring with BHA at home.
