Day 6 should be called “star striker” day.
Mbappe scored 2 goals, his 13th and 14th in a WC. Just 2 more to tie Klose (Germany) for the all-time record at 16. Mbappe also became France’s all-time leading scorer at 58 goals in 99 matches.
Erling Haaland, hold my urhl (beer). He scored his first WC goal in his first game. That is now his 58th goal for Norway in just 51 matches.
Lionel Messi - both of you, hold my cerveza (beer). HAT TRICK for Messi who now is tied with Klose (Germany) for most goals in the WC.
France beat Senegal 3-1. Scoreless at HT, lots of attacking in the final minutes. Senegal is good, France started the match in 4th gear, accelerated to 3rd gear in the 2H and by the end were in 2nd gear. They still have another gear to hit, and probably the turbo boost on top of that.
Norway beat Iraq 4-1. Iraq had chances but Haaland impacted the match.
Argentina beat Algeria 3-0. Algeria is a good team, Argentina looked awesome.
Messi has 10 goals in WC games SINCE HER TURNED 35.
Day 7 - Wednesday is not too shabby either with Kane (England) and Ronaldo (Portugal).
Another great 4 environments.

Group K Teams in a Sentence
Portugal - Best Midfield in the tournament, can win their first, how much will Ronaldo play.
Congo - European talent, high pressing and counter game.
Uzbekistan - First WC but don’t underestimate the quality and their chances.
Colombia - Strong, balanced and high expectations.
For more on each team - see the CS GROUP K Simple Guide.

In Summary
Portugal’s star-studded, counter-attacking machine and midfield brilliance are looking to win their first ever WC and send Ronaldo out on a high. Roberto Martinez is the best manager in the group, Bruno Fernandez the best player, and the talent on this team will evident all across the starters and subs. After saying that, don’t be surprised when Colombia fans say “hold my beer”. One of the tops teams in South America, Colombia’s high intensity counterattacking and grit will be tough to beat, and don’t be surprised if Colombia gets a bump in “home-field” like advantage as they will be used to playing in the US and Mexico. DR Congo’s athletic, physical power also includes a couple EPL stars, they could surprise. Uzbekistan is the underdog, but they are organized and the best of the four first timers in the WC.
Group L Teams in a Sentence
England - Talent is there, can they put it together and control the midfield.
Croatia - “Old man” hoops league feel, when old guys beat the more talented young guys.
Ghana - Sneaky talented, loaded with European talent.
Panama - Underdogs, defensive minded and organized.
For more on each team - see the CS GROUP L Simple Guide.

In Summary
England’s high-pressing, athletic intensity under their manager Thomas Tuchel could win the title, but they will need to come together and play the way they dominated qualifying. Fans are not sold on the German Tuchel, both because he’s not British and because they don’t like the style of play. Harry Kane is the best player in the Group and should find the net a bunch and will contend for the Golden Boot (most goals scored in the tournament). Croatia will be crafty, play smart, leverage their experience, or however else you want to say they will need to rely on their intelligence versus being the most athletic or skilled. Ghana could win the group themselves if Mohammed Kudus gets out in the open and finds the net. Panama will need to play a physical, direct style but will be significant underdogs in each match. England’s skill and depth, Croatia’s experience and Ghana’s pace - will be fun to watch which teams can execute their gameplan.
