Turnovers Hurt ‼️‼️‼️
![]() 📽️ See CS Video Links Below | Unfriendly Confines. Spurs lose again at Hotspur Stadium this season and again to Chelsea who have “owned” this match. Chelsea took advantage of a turnover and Joao Pedro scored at 34’ to give the roadside all three points. |
![]() 📽️ See CS Video Links Below | JPM, again. Jean-Philippe Mateta scores again to put the Eagles up in the 1H and an Own Goal early in the 2H allowed Palace to cruise past the Bee’s, who played pretty well but really did not create nearly enough chances. |
![]() 📽️ See CS Video Links Below | Dyche Effect. Looks like Sean Dyche will get the Tree’s back on track as they had what seemed to be all three points locked up off 2 quick 2H goals at 48’ and 50’. But, it was United with the better of it in the final 10 minutes as Diallo scored at 81’ to tie it up at 2 and Mbeumo just missing a great chance in added time for a United win. |
Smooth Sailing ⛵⛵⛵⛵⛵
![]() | Corner Dominance. The Gunners scored at 14’ off a corner, their 8th goal off a corner on the season. 44% of the Gunners goals are off a corner this season, a YUGE %. Rice added a goal at 35’ and it’s another clean sheet for Arsenal on a whopping 84% possession. |
![]() | Smooth sailing for the Seagulls on the South shore with a quick goal from Welbeck at 11’ and then 2 from Gomez at 64’ and 70’. No shots on goal from Leeds. |
![]() | Haaland. Erling Haaland. This guy keeps scoring, in fact no other City player has more than 1 goal on the season. Haaland scored goal 12 and 13 in the 1H to take a 2-1 lead into HT. A third goal for City at 60’ and they were cruising. Tyler Adams, the USMNT mid fielder scored his first EPL goal for the Cherries. |
![]() 🟥 = Red Card Impacted Match | No Contest. One 1H goal and 2 2H goals and it was all FFC at Craven Cottage. Wolves are now winless in their first 10 PL matches for the second straight year with just 2D. That was enough for them to fire their manager, Vitor Pereira. |
Tight Matches 👖👖👖
![]() | Finally. West Ham came to play and maybe the Hammer’s fans can take a breath. Newcastle struck first at 4’ but WH scored at 35’ and then got a 45+5’ own goal to take the HT lead. A 90+7’ goal put the game away late and Newcastle’s defense was not what it has been to this point in the season. |
![]() | Fair Result. Everton dominated the 1H and could’ve been up 2+ yet it was only 1-0 at HT. Sunderland dominated the 2H and could’ve scored 2+ goals but found the net one time at 46’. A draw is the proper result. |
![]() 📽️ See CS Video Links Below | Oops. An error by AV GK Emi Martinez might have jump started Liverpool’s season as Emi gifted a goal to Mo Salah at 45+1’ and finally the Red’s defense kept a clean sheet. Villa had their chances and possession was even but a second Liverpool goal by Gravenberch in the 2H made the end much less dramatic for Liverpool. |

Righting the Ship. ⛵⛵
West Ham and Forest sit in the relegation zone, how-ev-ah, they look like they each have the right manager in place to get them out of the bottom and stay up in the PL. Lots of games left to play and Dyche at Forest and Nuno at the Hammers have players to work with.
Liverpool break their EPL 4 game losing streak taking care of Villa in Anfield.
Everton go into the Stadium of Light on Monday Night “Football” and bounce back after the drubbing they took the past two matches at the hand of Spurs and City.
Sinking Ship. ⚓
Wolves have not righted their ship unless you say sacking their manager is a step in the right direction. Vitor Pereira is out at Wolves. Rob Edwards and Gary O’Neil are rumored to be in play to return to their old club. Edwards is at Middlesbrough in the Championship while O’Neil was sacked by the club last year.
Haaland. 🐎
This guy is on a goal scoring tear - here are some interesting numbers
His 13 goals scored is more than 10 other team’s total goals.
City have scored 20 goals on the season, their second leading scorer with 2 goals is “Own Goal”.
Most goals ever in the EPL after 10 matches - Erling Haaland with 15 (2022/23), 13 (25/26), 11 (23/24), 11 (24/25). Only Les Ferdinand (Newcastle) sits with Haaland with 11 in 1995/96.
In 106 EPL career games Haaland has 96 goals. He needs 4 more goals to become the quickest to 100 goals in a career. He has 17 matches to get those 4 goals.

World Series CS Commentary
For those who missed it, here’s a quick summary of some KEY moments in the World Series…..
Game 1 in Toronto - Jays 11-4. All Jays with 9 runs in the 6th inning.
Game 2 in Toronto - Dodgers 5-1. Pitcher Yamamoto went all 9 for the win, the first complete WS game since 2015.
Game 3 in LA - Dodgers 6-5. EIGHTEEN INNINGS, 6 hours. Walk off solo HR for Freeman.
Game 4 in LA - Jays 6-2. All Jays again, getting a home run by Guerrero off Ohtani.
Game 5 in LA - Jays 6-1. Trey Yesavage, Jays rookie pitcher strikes out 12 (a record)
Game 6 in Toronto - Dodgers 3-1. Yamamoto again with a great effort gets the win, but not before the Blue Jays made a run in the bottom of the 9th. A bad break on a ball hit to and lodged at the base of the wall combined with some bad baserunning to get doubled off on a soft liner to left and LA gets to a game 7.
Game 7 in Toronto - Dodgers 5-4. Great game where Jays took the lead, Dodgers fought back to tie it on a HR in 9th. Jays had a great chance to score in the bottom of 9 with bases loaded and one out but didn’t after a replay confirmed a close play at home. A home run in the 11th put LA up one. Toronto had a leadoff double in the 11th but couldn’t score. Yamamoto came on for the Win, his third of the WS.
Case for WHY this was a top 5 World Series in the last 50 years.
Yamamoto complete game in Game 2.
Game 3, GREAT 18 inning game, tons of drama. Ohtani went to the plate 9 times, going 4-4 with 2 doubles and 2 home runs, 5 walks (4 intentional). Runners thrown out at third for both teams at key moments of the game. Runners in scoring position in several extra innings but great defense and pitching kept it scoreless. Dodgers running out of pitchers and considering position players if it went much longer. Walk off HR to win it.
In Game 3 there was a controversial play in the second inning. Varsho was batting for Toronto with a runner on first and nobody out. It appeared he took ball 4, yet the umpire clearly called it a strike. Varsho dropped his bat and started to walk to first and baserunner Bichette then started to walk to second base. A heads up play by the Dodgers, as they heard the strike call and threw down to first to pick off the baserunner. Varsho then walked, but instead of runners on first and second, there was now an out and a runner on first. The next batter singled to put runners on first and third, and if a runner were on second, they would’ve scored. Toronto did not score in the inning.
Vlad Guerro’s HR off Ohtani in game 4, star versus star, that gave Toronto the lead.
The Blue Jays pitched rookie Trey Yesavage in game 5, he struck out a record-tying 12 batters, the youngest to do so in a WS since 1912.
Benches clear in game 5 after a wild pitch. No ejections.
Dodgers up 3-1 in 9th, runner on and no one out. The Jay’s Barger hits a ball deep to left center that somehow hits the bottom of the wall PERFECTLY to lodge between the ground and the bottom of the fence padding. With a great heads up play, both the left and center fielders quickly held their hands into the air to signal a lodged ball and the umpires immediately call ground rule double. Instead of a run scoring and runner on third, it’s runners on second and third and no one out. A pop up to first was followed by a short sinking liner to left field which was caught on the run and quickly thrown to second. Bad base running from Toronto and Barger was doubled off second base. Game over.
Game 7, Jays go up 3-0 on Bichette’s Home Run, game gets to 4-3 Jays in the 8th. Miguel Rojas, who had not hit a HR off a right-handed pitcher all year, hits a game tying HR on a 3 ball 2 strike count with one out in the top of the 9th, the first ever tying home run in the 9th inning in a WS game 7. WATCH
Game 7, bottom of 9, bases loaded and one out for the Jays. Infield in. Hard ground ball to second base where Miguel Rojas, the player who hit the tying HR in the top of the inning, made a great back hand play that threw him off balance, he quickly set and threw home for a force. It was a close play that was reviewed. The catcher caught the ball with his foot just off the plate but got it back down before the sliding runner touched the plate. Another baserunning error for Toronto. The runner should’ve had a much better lead and should not have slid the way he did into home. Any quicker and Toronto wins the WS on that play. WATCH The next batter hit a long fly ball to the wall where the Center Fielder made a tough catch colliding with the left fielder to get the out.
Game 7, 11th inning, Will Smith hits a home run, the first extra-inning homer in a game 7.
Game 7, bottom of 11, Dodgers clinging to a 5-4 lead. Vlad Guerrero doubles to lead off the inning. Blue Jays decide to use one of their final 3 outs to bunt him over to third base. One out runner on third. Next batter walks. Next batter hits a grounder up the middle fielded by Betts who steps on second and fires to first winning the World Series.
Game 7, Yamamoto comes in for the final 2+ innings to get win 3 of the series giving him the MVP.

CS Commentary
A lot has been said the Dodgers bought this WS. Just like the EPL, MLB does not have a salary cap. The disparity between big clubs and small clubs is big. The Dodgers have the highest payroll. Toronto was top 5. The WS was like Man City (Dodgers) against Chelsea (Toronto). The final four included Milwaukee and Seattle. Both outside the biggest clubs. Think Bournemouth and Palace. Expect a lot of discussion in the coming offseason about a work stoppage to try to even out the market disparity.
The umpires did NOT favor LA. Felt like a lot of people were rooting against the favorites, the Dodgers. That means every close call saw a lot of complaining if it went against the Jays. Here are the FACTS:
The ball hit for a ground rule double in game 6, it was 100% the right call. The ball was lodged at the base of the fence and any High School baseball player would know the rule. DO NOT try to pick up the ball, raise your hands in the air and let the ump know. If you reach and touch the ball it is automatically in play. GREAT play by the Dodgers outfielders who know the run and in that key situation made the right play. Even with that call, Toronto still had runners on second and third and no one out and didn’t score.
The Jays had THREE bad baserunning blunders.
You can’t get picked off first base because you think a pitch was ball 4. Watch
You can’t get doubled off second base on a soft liner to the outfield. Watch
You can’t be that slow or short on your secondary lead off of third base with the infield in and the bases loaded, and you also can’t take the third slowest slide at home plate (running thru the place or headfirst slide is faster). Watch
The Jays stranded a ton of runners in scoring position, with less than 2 outs, that would’ve won games.
The Jays outscored the Dodgers over the 7 games - 34-26.
Vlad Guerrero would’ve been the MVP if Toronto won. At the plate he was 10-30, 2 HR, 8 walks, .474 on base percentage, .600 slugging. Made some great defensive plays as well. Many of his big plays were in key moments.
Yamamoto had a GREAT MVP worthy series. Yet it was not the best pitching performance in the world series, regardless of what people are saying now. Just in the last 35 years.
Madison Baumgartner was way better for the Giants in 2015.
Jack Morris had the best ever single game 7 pitching performance ever, going 10 innings on a short rest and getting the 1-0 win in 1991.
Randy Johnson went 3-0 for Arizona in 2001.
The Dodger’s big star’s came up big in key moments.
Across the 7 games it is estimated the global audience for the WS was 550M+ viewers.

In the USA
In soccer this World Series was like a Champions League Final where both teams were great getting there, had some luck along the way, and the final game could’ve ended in a Draw. Yet it went extra time and was tied until the Penalty Shootout, where the underdog had a shot to win it, missed and then had another shot to win it and missed again. The Blue Jays had their chances, the Dodgers earned the win.
