Match Week 35 Recap
Derby Up, Blades Down & Promotion Playoff's Begin
The Rams are Going Up! Derby County did not win a Title, nor are they headed to the Premier League - but they won Promotion to the Championship. What. A. Scene.
Last season Derby County sustained a 21-point penalty and were relegated out of the Championship. This season - right back up. Raw emotion - and thanks to Ed Dawes for calling out the CleanSheet at 30s.
🎵🎵“they docked us 21 points…and we don’t give a F…because we’re derby county….and we are going up!”🎵🎵
Pitch Invasion - Take a watch - except you Bilas.

Promotion Playoff’s begin for League 1 & League 2, with the Final Match Day for the Championship on Saturday. Check out the Hot Topic 🔥🔥🔥 Section for all the details.
Blades Officially Relegated. Just 3 wins in the PL and 97 goals allowed, 4 short of 101 and a PL record. (Swindon, 1993/94, 100 goals allowed).
ONE April Goal. BHA had 1 goal in 5 April matches, and this was it.
Most Ever. Bournemouth didn’t win a match in the first 9 of the season, since then they’ve earned 42 points in 25 matches, 5th best in the league over that time. Sitting on 48 points it’s the most they’ve ever had in the PL.
Off Island in the Headlines. Leverkusen, Again. Home to Stuttgart, it looked again like Leverkusen would take their first loss after 45 unbeaten but a 96’ goal by Robert Andrich (X) secured a draw - make it 46 unbeaten in all competitions. That’s the TENTH time Leverkusen have scored in stoppage time to win or draw. Next up, at Roma, in the Europa League Semi’s Thursday.
Stats Leaders - Players. We see you, Ollie Watkins.
Goals 21 Erling Haaland, City 20 Cole Palmer, Chelsea 19 Ollie Watkins, Villa 19 Alexander Isak, Newcastle 18 Dominic Solanke, Bournemouth | Assists 12 Ollie Watkins, Villa 10 Pascal GroB, BHA 10 Kieran Trippier, Newcastle 9 Eight Tied | Clean Sheets 14 David Raya, Arsenal 12 Jordan Pickford, Everton 9 Bernd Leno, Fulham 9 Ederson, City 8 Two tied |

Arsenal 3-2 at Tottenham
North London Is RED. Tottenham 2-3 Arsenal. Spurs looked good the 1H but The Gunners scored off of set pieces and jumped out to a 3-0 HT lead only to see Spurs rally in the 2H with 2 goals, but it wasn’t enough, and Arsenal are on top in North London and in the Table.
1-0. An own goal on a corner puts the Gunners up at 15’
2-0. Saka with the patience to make it 2 at 27’
3-0. Havertz from a corner, and the route is on at 38’.
1-3. Romero provides hope at 64’ in the 2H.
2-3. Son with the PK to provide hope at 86’.
Rivalry. It’s being reported Spurs fans are writing a letter to request their team purposely lose to Man City to prevent Arsenal from winning the league. This while Spurs are still in the running for a Champions League spot for next season. I think most of the list is Villa fans.
City 2-0 at Forest

Europe Race
Things could get interesting as Chelsea has 2 games in hand. Man U, Newcastle and West Ham need to keep winning to secure Europe. Bournemouth are hoping a couple of the clubs slip up.
Biggest Winners: Newcastle, Bournemouth.
Biggest Losers: Spurs.
Point is a Point: Villa, MU, West Ham, Chelsea.
3pts to 0 to 1. Villa 2-2 Chelsea. Villa took a 2-goal lead into HT, but Chelsea dominated the 2H and looked to complete the comeback with a winning goal in stoppage time but it was ruled no goal (X see push at 18s) for a push in the buildup. So, both sides settle for a point.
3pts to 0 to 1 redux. Man United 1-1 Burnley. Both sides could’ve taken all 3 points, both sides could’ve gotten 0 points. A draw was a fair result. United took the lead at 79’ off an all too often Burnley turnover in their own end that Antony converted (X). But, a poor foul by MU keeper Onana allowed Burnley to convert a PK (X) at 87’ to earn their point.
No Contest. Newcastle 5-1 Sheffield United. The Magpies fell behind early at St James’ Park but evened it up at HT. The 2H was all Newcastle officially sending the Blades back to the Championship.
Meh. West Ham 2-2 Liverpool. On cue, Liverpool fell behind in the 1H, stormed back after HT to take a 2-1 lead at 65’ only to give up a 77’ goal and squander chances late to drop 2 points. The Hammers are just hanging around hoping for a MU or Newcastle stumble in their final 4 matches.
You Make the Call. Controversy at the end of the match when there was confusion on the call of a referee, here is a 1 min review of the decision on X.
Welcome to the Party. Bournemouth 3-0 BHA. Credit to the Cherries for making a run at Europe and knocking BHA out of the discussion. The way Bournemouth are playing they could make things difficult for Arsenal Saturday. Seems like the Seagulls are already on holiday.
Relegation Race
Sheffield United officially Relegated.
It’s a 3-team race for 1 spot. Here’s the remaining schedule with a potentially BIG final match day meeting between Forest and Burnley!
Forest

Biggest Winners: Everton & Brentford secured staying up with the Luton Town loss.
Biggest Losers: Forest, Luton Town, Sheffield United (Relegated).
Point is a Point: Burnley.

This club won Liverpool’s first ever title in 1901. In looking at the picture there is no way they could win a match in today’s PL or Championship for that matter - but - I would Bet all of CS’s betting $ on them winning a bar fight against any of today’s clubs.
1901 Liverpool Title Holders
Back in the Green - 3 Match Weeks to go. Plus, some CL and FA Cup Finals.
