Headlines 📌
Best Result of Match Week 23. Villa 1-2 Man United. Quietly (is that possible with MU), that’s 13 points over the last 6, with two wins against Villa who remains ahead of them in the table. Rasmus Hojlund has now scored in 5 straight, and Scott McTominay continues to be a scoring machine as a late sub, this time a winner at 86’. The CleanSheet has talked about Villa’s home dominance recently, and, well, that seems to have ended. That’s three straight home losses at Villa Park and really the first time this year Unai Emery has some controversy to deal with. Villa lost 3 of their first 18 matches, and now 3 of their last 6 matches. Can they hold on and contend for a top 4 spot.
5 in a Row. Hojlund on the board, fifth match straight. Gunners take the lead. (X 17s).
The Shimmy. Douglas Luiz with the equalizer. (X 33s)
Another Winner. Mctominay at 86’ to win. (X 30s). McTominay leads the club with 7 goals, and he is not a “starter”. Garnacho, Hojlund, and Rashford each have 5.
ten Hag. Good to hear from the Gaffer. (X 2min)
Not Since 1935. West Ham 0-6 Arsenal. Chant heard at London Stadium by Gunner fans…. 🎶🎶”Who put the ball in the Wesst Ham net? half the fn team did!” Well, not quite but 5 different people did score for Arsenal who led 4-0 at half. That is the largetst road W for the Gooners since 1935. David Moyse, manager of the Hammers, was coaching for his job to start the season and took the Hammers to 8th in the table, but since the start of the new year that is 3 points in 5 matches with back-to-back blow outs. How long will West Ham ownership stick with Moyes, is there someone they are targeting waiting in the wings.
Declan Rice, former Hammer had a rocket of a goal for Gunners but had a very respectful celebration in front of his former fans.
Drive Home Safely. Or in a London Derby - “Tube Home Safely” (Tube is the London Underground). Not a good look when your fans leave at halftime. (X12s)
At the Buzzer. Maddison to Richarlson to Son to Johnson…..top of net game winner! (X 15s). Spurs with all three points over BHA 2-1 as Son returns from Asian Cup, comes on as late sub and contributes immediately. A great second angle. (X 15s)
30s with Ange & Klopp. 🟦Great summary of the reaction to the idea of the Blue Card. Spurs & Liverpool manager say the quiet part out loud.
The Key To Relegation. Sheffield United and Burnley have a big hole to climb out of. Luton Town have pulled themselves out with some big points at against some of the better PL teams, but it is their record against the bottom of the table that may be their downfall. Luton Town have won just one of their four matches against the other promoted teams from last year. It’s nothing but the big boys the rest of way for the Hatters.
Goal of the Weekend on Monday Night. Jefferson Lerma for Palace (X), yet Palace could not hold onto this 1-0 lead conceding two extra time goals to Chelsea.
Two-Thirds. Still just short of 2/3 of the way thru the season, a lot can change yet. Currently there are 4 groups of teams, can any of them jump up a group? Will be fun to watch.

Super Bowl 🏉🏉
Not a bad prediction from the CleanSheet (Chiefs 24-23), we will take the W.
Close, overtime game and the venue in Vegas looked great. So, given all of that, why the flop of the halftime performance? The best comments seen on the Usher performance are along the line of - “it was really good”. But this is the Super Bowl - the table stakes start at GREAT and only go up from there. Take a look at these Super Bowl Halftime performances and tell me Usher was even in the ballpark.

Host Nation - Ivory Coast Beat Nigeria 2-1 in the FINAL
In an astounding turnaround, Ivory Coast did the following: won only 1 match in the Group stage, finished third and needed a tie-breaker to make the “sweet 16” knockout round and on the process Sacked manager Jean-Louis Gasset and appointed an interim manager Emerse Fae. They then won the Sweet 16 on penalties, the Elite 8 with an extra time goal, and avenged an earlier tournament loss to Nigeria to win the title.
Ivory Coast equalize - and Drogba goes crazy.
Host Nation - Qatar Beat Jordan 3-1 in the FINAL
Favorite South Korea, coached by former German National and USMNT coach Jurgen Klinsmann, were knocked out in the semi-finals and the S Korean fan base were not happy, calling for the sacking of Klinsman. Both Qatar and Jordan were underdogs to win the tournament.
