What action in Week 14

  • Best Result of Match Week 14. Man City v Tottenham 3-3.

Good summary of how it finished.

Pep’s reaction to Spurs 3rd goal.

  • 2 Min of Highlights -

    • SPURS announcers - Great 2 min of highlights (X 2m).

    • CITY announcers - Same 2 min of highlight PLUS an added 15s (X 2m).

    • Controversial Late Whistle. City’s version included the key moment in extra time - see the final 15 seconds.

    • Haaland was not happy. (X) Fortunately, he will not be punished (3 min read) for his reaction but the club was charged with failing to control their players.

    • Heung-Min Son. Took the lead for Spurs with a goal and then tied it up for City 137 seconds later….with an own goal. Here was his reaction. (X)

    • 3 Straight. Man City has dropped points in 3 straight.

  • What a Finish at Anfield. Liverpool 4-3 Fulham.

  • Chelsea. Chelsea 3-2 BHA.

  • Burnley. Not sure where it came from. Actually, probably came from Sheffield United not playing well at all, but the Clarets won 5-0, first win at home this PL season.

  • Everton. Got the 3 points they wanted on the road, and Forest are now really dropping points.

  • 24 Goals. Sunday saw the most goals scored in one Sunday match day with 5 games.

  • 1972. The last time Newcastle won back-to-back matched against Man United.

  • Sacked. Rumors of the first manager to be sacked this year. Will not report the rumor until it happens.

What 2 Look 4 👀- Match Week 15

  • 2. 6. 2. Week. 2 Tuesday, 6 Wednesday, 2 Thursday.

ONE - Top of Table Contenders.

  • Villa v Man City (Wed) - A chance for Villa to announce their intention for the top 4, or title? Villa Park has been a great home pitch advantage in the PL, 6 wins in 6 matches and dominating the score sheet 23-5. City can beat anyone anywhere, but nothing is easy for the team at the top of the mountain.

SIX - Moral Victories - These teams need points, not just to play well.

  • Wolves v Burnley (Tue) - Wolves have been playing well but not getting the points to match. Burnley just took out a lot of frustration on a difficult start to the season.

  • Fulham v Forest (Wed) - Both sides want out of any discussion about relegation. For that to happen, points are needed here.

  • BHA v Brentford (Wed) - The Seagulls have been really fighting through a packed schedule and injuries and getting results. Brentford has been getting by without some key players as well.

  • Palace v Bournemouth (Wed) - Palace seems to sit mid table every year, never having a big winning or losing streak. Been more losses than wins over the last 6. Bournemouth has been great recently.

  • Man United v Chelsea (Wed) - This could be a top of table contenders match up in most years. Now each side is trying to stay in the top 10.

  • Tottenham v West Ham (Thur) - Two London teams looking to advance in the top 10. Spurs need to right the ship, week 14 result was a start. West Ham continue to get points, can they get more than 1.

THREE - Relegation Teams at HOME As Big Underdogs.

  • Luton Town v Arsenal (Tue) - Been pretty good point hunters at home this year, and the 1-1 draw with Liverpool is example enough that Arsenal will need to bring their A game.

  • Sheffield United v Liverpool (Wed) - For a contending team, the Reds need to get all 3 points here.

  • Everton v Newcastle (Thur) - The uphill battle continues for the Toffees trying to recover from the 10-point deduction. Been quite a run for the Magpies - currently in a 9-match run against 7 high profile clubs. Arsenal, Dortmund (CL), Chelsea, PSG (CL), Man United, Spurs, AC Milan (CL). The 2 non-high-profile clubs are Bournemouth and Everton. Bournemouth beat Newcastle. They will need to bring high energy and focus on this match.

Off Island 🏝️ON Island

The first 13 match weeks feel somewhat like hors d’oeuvres - we got a taste of the season, a lot of variety, but it’s really not the main course.

Now it’s December and we move on to soup, salad and breadsticks - something for everyone, not the main course but we will probably eat way too much.

What have the first 14 match weeks told us in terms of match points and goals.

  • 5 teams are taking full advantage of home - Liverpool, Villa, Newcastle, Arsenal, Man City.

  • Everton have 13 points in 7 matches on the road, tied for second best points per match at 1.9.

  • Palace have been dreadful at home considering their position in the table, .8 points per match.

  • Newcastle have been dreadful on the road considering their position in the table, .8 points per match.

  • Villa goals per home match 3.8, and road match 1.3 - 2.5 full goals fewer they score on the road.

  • Arsenal are allowing just .5 goals on the road and are taking the most points on the road, 2.2 points per match.

  • Newcastle are allowing just .4 goals in St James’ Park.
