Spain 2-1.
Yes, Spain were helped by goalkeeping errors, but they just hold the ball nonstop, make simple controlled passes, and are able to pounce on mistakes.
Spain found the net first and really controlled most of the 1H yet Belgium got took advantage of a chance late to send it to HT 1-1. That was the first goal Spain allowed this tournament. The 2H was more even, but around 70 minutes Belgium’s GK Courtois came off injured and unfortunately their backup keeper had the error of the match. Spain scored on a rebound at 88’ and that was it.
Also, importantly, France took NO CARDS. They had several players on Yellows, a second and they would’ve had to sit out the next match. Now all the cards reset.
Spain v France in Dallas should be a fun one.

Familiar Foe’s - 25 English Premier League players will be on either side of this match up, most with England. Norway’s Martin Odegaard (Arsenal) and Erling Haaland (Man City) will be challenged to contend with players that know them well. England has options to mark Haaland, players who have had some success and also some that have not had success. Will be a fun watch to see how they play it.
Big question - how does England handle the emotion of their unbelievable win at Azteca against Mexico. They left it all on the pitch, had to play with 10 men, and had to handle a bunch of travel. It’s the World Cup, they should be able to rally but it will not be easy to get back to that level of emotion.
Expect an open, end-to-end match with several goals. Just feels like 3-2. Both sides will create chances and have a lot of confidence in their ability to score. Could come down to which goalkeeper steps up and makes the big saves.
CS Prediction - Upset - Norway take down England 3-2. Maybe even extra time. Just feels like England expended too much in Mexico.

Fitness - Argentina have extended SIGNIFICANT energy in their last 2 matches against Cape Verde and Egypt, and Messi has been on the pitch for all of it. How can this side manage their fitness levels, will they have heavy legs? Switzerland have their own issues as their leading scorer AND assist leader, Johan Manzambi, has been ruled out with an injury.
Argentina will bring creativity, tested experience, and individual brilliance. Switzerland will be disciplined in their structure, look to Xhaka for leadership in the midfield, and play for counter attacking opportunities.
Feels like it will be hard for Switzerland to find the net, but if they do it could again ratchet up the pressure on Argentina to score, and if that’s that case do they have the legs to come back again.
CS Prediction - Upset again. Just have a feeling Argentina’s legs are running out of gas. Switzerland keeps Argentina to 1 goal or fewer, and finds a way to knock out the champs.
