It’s a London Derby (North heading West) as Tottenham Hotspur hit the road with a tough test at Gtech Stadium against a Brentford side that has looked great in the preseason on Sunday, August 23, 1030a CST.
Spurs have had a pretty good preseason beating Chelsea down under in the Sydney Super Cup preseason tournament championship. Brentford just dropped Bundesliga side Frankfurt 7-0 in a preseason match. Should be a great match to kick off the season.
2025/26 Finish - 17th Place
Not where a Big6 Club Should Be
61 - Over/under projected points
Global brand, Big6 club, that has been really underperforming the last several years. Feels like a long time ago Pochettino was leading Kane and Son to the Champions League title game. Add to it the success their archrival Arsenal have been having and Spurs fans are looking for change.
Bringing in a new Gaffer to lead the team in the final 2 months of the season seemed to settle the ship as Roberto De Zerbi found a way to keep Spurs up on the final day of the season. Feels like De Zerbi got a running start into this season as Spurs have been one of the most active this summer in the transfer window, determined to get back into the top of the table and into Europe. Spurs had a run of qualifying for Europe in 16 of 17 seasons, but falling to the bottom of the PL table is not anywhere near good enough.
All that aside, this is still a big club with a world-class stadium, passionate global fanbase and the resources to compete. The ownership group announced the departure of Daniel Levy from day-to-day involvement in the club and have injected more cash into player acquisition.
A talented manager with a running start, passionate fanbase, great big stadium, talent acquisition - do not be surprised if this back-to-back 17th place finishing club contends for top 6 this season.
And just a reminder, the goals of Spurs fans, in order are
Finish ahead of Arsenal in the table.
Beat Arsenal
Qualify for Europe
Win the EPL Title.
NOTE: finishing 17 in the table is ok for Spurs fans if Arsenal finish 18-20.

Ownership
Tottenham started as a Limited Company. In 1982 a fan bought 25% of the club for $700k and created Hotspur PLC that went to the London Stock Exchange and became the first European sports club to be listed on a stock market. Fast forward to the sale of the club to ENIC Intl Ltd in 2001, a British investment company run by Joe Lewis. Daniel Levy, Lewis’ partner at EINC was the Executive Chairman but was removed in 2025 with Peter Charrington as the figurehead of the Board and Spurs CEO Vinai Venkatesham taking over leadership. In 2012 the club delisted from the stock market. The club is now valued close to $3.2B.

The Culture
COYS - Come On You Spurs
Tottenham started out as a very traditional North London club. It was claimed in the 1920s that all Jews who attended soccer matches were Spurs fans, with approximately 35% of those attending a Spurs match Jewish. Fast forward to 2013 when survey’s showed Tottenham to be the most popular club in 11 London boroughs and 60 post codes compared to rival arsenal, 3 boroughs and 25 post codes. Today, Spurs fans are spread across England, and the world. Only 27% of the fans attending a home match are “local”, 73% travel at least 50 miles to attend a match. It is estimated Spurs fans earn more than 2x the average supporter across the PL, however the club is located in one of the most ethnically diverse and poorest parts of London. Spurs have really expanded internationally, in particular East Asia. Also of note, Spurs have the most TikTok followers in 2023, 24M.

Hotspurs & Cockerel’s
Sir Henry Percy, nicknamed Hotspur, or Harry Hotspur was an English Knight in the last 1300’s who fought several campaigns against the Scots and the French in the 100-year war. The Scots game him the nickname Hotspur as a tribute to his speed in advance to attack when it is said he wore riding “spurs”.
Why is the logo a Cockerel? Harry was a fan of cockfighting, a blood sport involving roosters’ “cocks”, a Gamecock. The Cockerel was adopted in the Spurs logo in 1921 in honor of Harry.

Your K-Cup Has Been Sitting in a Warehouse for Months
That grocery store pod? It was roasted long before it hit the shelf. Coffee starts losing flavor within weeks of roasting — which is why your morning cup tastes flat, no matter how nice your machine is.
Angelino's does it differently. A third-generation roaster in Los Angeles, they roast, grind, and seal every pod in-house for peak freshness, then ship it to your door within days of roasting. The difference is the first thing you'll notice: real aroma, real flavor, no bitterness.
Mix and match from 50+ specialty coffees, teas, and flavored blends — all Keurig®-compatible — and save more with every box you add, up to 34% off at 12+. Order once whenever you're running low, or subscribe for an extra 5% if that's easier. Entirely up to you.
New customers get 15% off their first order — applied automatically, no code needed.
