Everton start the season at home in year 2 of Hill-Dickinson Stadium when they host Crystal Palace Sunday, Saturday 22, 9a CST.
For Everton to challenge for Europe this season the Hill-Dick will need to be more of a home pitch advantage than it was last season. The environment is electric, the talent is there and manager David Moyes is one of the more experienced managers in the league. Supposedly, it is not uncommon in the EPL for a new stadium to take some getting used to for the home side. While the visiting side is not used to the stadium, neither is the home side.
This will be a big test for the Toffee’s to get the home pitch on their side against a tough Palace side.
2025/26 Finish - 13th Place
50 - Over/Under projected points.
123 Years. Everton has had the longest continuous topflight run of any other club in the EPL, 123 years. Amazing consistency, and generations of winning. They have only been outside the topflight 4 times in their history, which began in 1888.
Sophomore Season. Goodison Park had been the home to Everton since 1892. That changed last season as the club moved 3 miles West to Bramley-Moore Dock and the opening of Hill Dickinson Stadium. Truly a LOUD, high-end stadium that got rave reviews from fans and players alike. The only issue, Everton struggled at home, which is not uncommon when the home team has no experience in the stadium. Expect this season to be more of a home field advantage.

Goodison Park

Hill Dickinson Stadium
What looked like a very promising 2025 season ended with a whimper, but it was a much better result than what Everton has had the last several years, and it was a nice break from the relegation battles they had been in recently.
David Moyes, the manager, is a proven winner. The knock on his managing is his style, which tends to be more conservative. Fans often want him to play more attacking soccer, but they also like to win.
It is still yet to be seen what the ownership groups approach will be to being aggressive in buying players and going after European soccer. Expect the home pitch advantage to be much better this season, and the added revenue the new stadium brings could show up on the pitch. The stadium is already bringing major development opportunities to this dockside area just north of Liverpool’s city center.
Reportedly, there are plans for significant improvement to the area’s infrastructure:
Sandhill train station is being expanded and will include a footbridge and increased capacity.
The city of Liverpool has revised parking laws and created a “Football Match Parking Zone” within a 30 min walk from the stadium.
Transforming the waterfront to include housing, retail and restaurants.
Along with the stadium and dock area renovations, there are commitments to improve the surrounding community funded by the increased charity investment
The stadium was built with a capacity of 53,000, 13,000 more than Goodison, and with a plan for expansion if demand is there.
Expect Everton to be comfortably above relegation but struggle to crack the top 10.

Ownership
ONE WORD - CHAOS
Everton F.C. is a limited company with the board of directors holding a majority of the shares. In 2016, Farhad Moshiri, a British-Iranian businessman based in Morocco, bought a 49.9% stake in the club, and then upped that to 59% in 2018 and again to 94% in 2022. In 2023 777 Partners signed an agreement to acquire Moshiri’s 94% stake but the deal collapsed in 2024 due to depts to 777 Partners. Everton changed directions and announced an agreement with Friedkin Group, who also own Serie A Club Roma and Ligue 1 club Cannes. Thomas Friedkin, a businessman and film producer from San Diego CA, is the Chairman and CEO. In 2025 Friedkin Group launched Pursuit Sports, the professional sports division of Friedkin.

Biggest Rival - Liverpool Merseyside Derby
Stadiums are less than 1 mile apart and can each be seen from each other across Stanley Park.
Merseyside is the county in which Liverpool is located.
The longest running top-flight derby in England, a match has been played every year since 1962.
In 248 Matches Everton has 68W 102L 78D.
The Culture
The Peoples Club.
Everton is a more local, blue collar fan base than many of its rivals and big clubs in the PL. 30% of their fans live in Liverpool, and 50% live within 44 miles. For comparison's sake, Liverpool and Man United average 82 and 78 miles. 71% of Everton fans earn less than $40k per year (2003 data). In addition, a 2013 study showed that the houses around Goodison Park averaged $80k, a full $45k less than the next lowest of the teams in the PL. It’s a good-sized club with A LOT of history and a big fanbase, however it falls below the top 6-7 revenue/spending clubs in the PL.
The fanbase is very passionate…..
In 2013, the club launched a new crest to improve re-productibility of the design in print - most likely for Nike. The redesign was not received well by supporters when 91% said to not like the new logo. Over 22,000 supporters signed a petition to have it changed. The club apologized and created a new crest with the involvement of supporters who voted on 3 designs. The winning design was voted on by 80% of the voters and became the new crest in 2014.
In Goodison Park, the club got GREAT attendance despite having the most obstructed views and poor sight lines in the Premier League. A 2006–07 fan survey by the Premier League listed 15% of Everton fans as being unhappy with the experience, and only 19% described match views as "very good". Those are loyal fans, who are now rewarded with a new stadium.
Everton has great supporter clubs all over the world.

The Everton Lock-Up
Also known as Prince Ruperts Tower, was built in 1787 as a holding place where drunks would be taken overnight by parish constables. Release would involve some sort of community service. It is one of two lock-ups still standing in Liverpool, and became the centerpiece for Everton’s Crest in 1937
