What 2 Look 4 👀- Match Week 6

(reminder - like driving on the other side of the road, in the PL, HOME teams are listed first)

  • 7.2.1 Week. 7 Saturday, 2 Sunday, 1 Monday.

Match of the Week 👑

  • Newcastle +226 v Arsenal +119 SUN 1030a - In 197 matches the Gunners are 86W 72L 39D in this matchup, but over the last 20 it’s been all Gunners with 13W 6L 1D. These are the matches Arsenal need to dig deep in and take all 3 points if they want to win the title. Newcastle, on the other hand, need to figure out how to score goals. While only allowing 3 goals on the season they’ve only scored 3 and have three 0-0 draws on the season.

London Home Teams 🏫🏫🏫🏫

  • Palace +295 v Liverpool -121 SAT 9 cst - Maybe should be the match of the week. Unless this ends in a draw one of the sides will take on their first loss of the PL season. Will be a contrast of styles as Palace will focus defense first and Liverpool will be looking to create chances. Palace have allowed just 2 goals on the season and sit 5th in the table. The last 5 times these two have played goals have been few and far between, averaging under 2 goals per match.

  • Chelsea -131 v BHA +320 SAT 9a - The Blues need some home cookin’ and the Bridge usually provides. BHA has beaten Chelsea just 2 times in the last 15 meetings, and recently the matches have been high scoring with over 3 goals scored in 4 of the last 5. Both sides are started the season more slowly than they would’ve liked and have left points on the table. Feels like if Chelsea play up to their potential, they should win this one but is there a sign of wear and tear already showing up given their busy schedule.

  • Tottenham -218 v Wolves +531 SAT 2p - Spurs have scored 10 goals this season, allowing 3. Wolves have scored 3 goals, allowing 12. On paper this is a mismatch. Seems like a mismatch in the coaches box as well as Thomas Frank seems to be pushing all the right buttons while Vitor Pereira continues to look for something positive to say about his side.

  • Brentford +236 v Man United +106 SAT 630a - MU have momentum coming off their home win over Chelsea and they have won 5 of their last 7 games against the Bee’s. Yet both sides have concerns and have been “underperforming” according to their supporters. Bee’s have been much better at home and will need that energy against a United side that will be without Casemiro after taking a red card last weekend.

Northwest Matchups 🛤️🛤️

  • City -581 v Burnley +1313 SAT 9a - Both sides are coming off 1-1 draws but they are not thinking of them the same way. City will be disappointed conceding late at Arsenal while Burnley will be happy with the point over Forest. City have won 13 of the last 17 including 4 of the last 5 via CS. The Clarets will most likely sit back and try to defend, which will be difficult against a City side with so many creative scorers, especially at the Etihad.

  • Everton +TBD v West Ham +TBD MON 2p - Graham Potter is under attack from the supporters and the West Ham manager needs to find more consistency from his side. The Hammers have 5 goals on the season, 3 of those were in one match. Since David Moyes took over at Everton they have been a more confident consistent side expanding their focus on the defensive end to looking for more attacking opportunities. If the Toffee’s want to say “The Dixie” provides a home pitch advantage this is the kind of match they need to dominate.

Matchup in the Midlands 🌾🌾🌾

  • Forest -120 v Sunderland +355 SAT 1130a - These sides have not played each other since 1997. Is it too much to say must win for Forest and Ange? Probably, as it is still very early in the season. But, a home match against a recently promoted side and a new manager who has yet to win a match at Forest seems to add to the pressure. The Black Cats have looked good at home, now can they bring their A game on the road to the Midlands.

  • Villa +130 v Fulham +221 SUN 8a - Mental State. Where is Villa’s. After finally scoring their first and only goal of the season they allowed a 10-man side to score and turn a win into a draw. FFC have been defensively solid and looked good in all their matches. Will Villa get the confidence and energy they need from Villa Park to finally put together a full performance or will Fulham’s balance and ability to keep matches tight give them the upper hand late in the 2H?

  • Leeds +186 v Bournemouth +144 SAT 9a - Are both these sides as good as they seem or have their schedules been pretty “light” so far. Probably a little bit of both. Either way this one is a sneaky high-quality matchup of two sides people underestimate. This one feels like a battle of Bournemouth’s efficiency and Leeds high pressing style. Expect some late fireworks in this one.

    • Aston Villa host Bologna (Italy) on Thursday at 2pm cst - results too late for this edition.

CS Thoughts & Predictions

  • The world rankings are not a great measuring stick on the quality of players. They don’t accurately count LIV or other European tours. No way DeChambeau and Rahm are that far down the list in reality.

  • Europe has more experience and continuity. Both sides have great quality. Playing in the USA will be an advantage for the USA.

  • Both Captains seem good, a wash.

  • Most interested in watching Bryson DeChambeau and to see if Scottie can turn his number 1 world ranking into Ryder Cup points.

  • Brandel Chamblee, Golf Channel pundit, is an idiot.

    • Brandel says, “Bryson DeChambeau is a ‘Captains Nightmare’”.

    • AND- paraphrased - his YouTube numbers are “pretty dubious” probably a lot of bots.

    • Scottie then responded, “He’s (Bryson’s) a tremendous competitor. He’s a great partner as well. He’s a great guy, he’s a good friend. He’s been great in our team room. He brings a lot of energy and the people love him. Being an American means a lot to him and I’m excited to kind of unleash him this week.

    • When it comes to Brandel v Bryson - CS is 100% team Bryson - here’s his YouTube page, some great content! (694) Bryson DeChambeau - YouTube (2.5M subscribers).

  • PREDICTION

    • USA 15.5 - 12.5 Europe.

    • Bryson with 4 points earned, Scottie 4 points earned.

Bryson DeChambeau
