The Year-End Moves No One’s Watching

Markets don’t wait — and year-end waits even less.

In the final stretch, money rotates, funds window-dress, tax-loss selling meets bottom-fishing, and “Santa Rally” chatter turns into real tape. Most people notice after the move.

Elite Trade Club is your morning shortcut: a curated selection of the setups that still matter this year — the headlines that move stocks, catalysts on deck, and where smart money is positioning before New Year’s. One read. Five minutes. Actionable clarity.

THE GREAT ESCAPE?

1963 Film - WWII POWs attempt to escape a Nazi Prison Camp - Go Watch It

  • In 2006/07 West Ham were 10 points below the relegation line with 9 matches to play. They won 7 to close out the season avoiding the drop by 3 points. The most points overcome with 9 matches left to play.

  • In 2004/05 West Brom was last in the table at Christmas. They became the FRIST TEAM EVER to go from last to avoiding relegation with 34 total points and just 6 wins.

  • In 2014/15 Leicester City sat with 19 points, 7 behind 17th, after losing 7 straight matches with 9 to play. 7 wins and 1 draw in their final 9 matches took LCFC all the way up to 14th.

  • 2013/12 Sunderland were 7 points back in relegation with 6 left to play, they finished 14th in the table.

Wolves sit 12 points behind the drop line, 13 points behind 16th place, with 8 to play. Can they do it? The schedule is favorable - the highest team in the table left for Wolves is Brentford at 7th - and they play the 19th, 18, 16, 15, 14 place teams. Could make things interesting.

👌 Table

  • Looks like top 5 will earn the coveted Champions League spot next year, meaning the top 7 will earn a European League spot.

  • Looks like the top 14 teams all still have European hopes.

9️⃣ Iran

Getting hard to separate Soccer and Politics lately.

  • Messi and Inter Miami at the White House.

  • MLS seemingly promoting an agenda.

  • Former USWNT player sounding like an idiot, again.

  • Concerns over Mexico cartel activity with the WC 100 days away.

  • Questions on the federal government making promised payments to host cities in support of the competition.

  • It’s more than these - but they come quickly to mind.

Now we add Iran to the list.

The Iranian National Team has qualified for the World Cup. Should they play in the tournament?

Answer - YES

The majority of Iran stands against the Iranian Guard. The current conflict is against the regime, not the people of Iran. The US should welcome the soccer team and help them attend if necessary. It’s possible the IRG will not be in control before the WC starts.

The Iranians Women’s team recently played matches in the Asia Cup (South Korea) and they refused to sing the anthem of the Iranian Republic. This was seen as support to the US action. The IRGC is now threatening the women with retaliation. In their next match the women did sing the anthem and salute the flag. They did so under instruction.

Mehdi Taj, the president of the Iranian Football Federation cast doubt on Iran traveling to the tournament. What else is he going to say?

🔟 Follow the Money

Historically, during extreme heat, soccer matches have allowed “water breaks” mid-way through each half. This has become more prevalent in recent major event.

There is more drama as we head to the World Cup as FIFA has announce that instead of choosing which matches may qualify as extreme heat, EVERY WORLD CUP MATCH will have a Hydration BREAK. And guess what, broadcasters are going to cut away to commercial. So in essence, the World Cup has now become 4 Quarters instead of 2 Halves.

Ted Lasso would be proud.
