Results 🏟️

90 Minute Thrillers

Bournemouth owned the 1H yet Liverpool cut a 0-2 deficit when Virgil van Dijk cut the lead to 1 with a goal at 45’.

Liverpool had the majority of the chances in the 2H and tied it up at 80’ and then had chance after chance.

But, this season Liverpool has been struggling defensively and a lapse in concentration allowed the Cherrie’s a great chance and Amine Adli converted at 90+5’ - 🎥Watch

Spurs 1-0. All Spurs in the 1H.

1-1. Burnley get a goal right before HT.

Burnley 2-1 on Lyle Foster’s 76’ goal.

Yet, at 90’ Spurs get a road point.

1-0 BHA, who deserved the lead for 60’.

1-1 when Chukwueze got FFC and the Cottager fans into it.

Then this happened at 90+2’ from Harry Wilson.

🎥🎥Watch.

OK, maybe not 90 but close.

Arsenal had not lost at home and it looked like more of the same when they took the lead 1-0 on an own goal at 29’.

Man United got back into it at 37’ to head to half time 1-1.

Yet it was Man United who made the big plays in the 2H.

HMMM, Interesting

Nice bounce back for villa getting a 2-goal win at Newcastle. Goals both early in the and late in the 2H gave Villa the win in a tightly contested match.

Newcastle remains a confusing side, just no consistency.

🟥Red Card Impacted Match

Another Chelsea win, solidly, yet .

The Blues scored in the 1H and again right out of the locker room to go up 2-0. A third had them rolling on a penalty at 64’. Then Palace took a red card at 72’, and down a man scored at 88’, but 1 would not get it done.

Big disappointment for Bee’s who had been scoring non-stop at home. Great win for Forest on the road.

The Tree’s scored early and dug in after their 1H goal by Igor Jesus. Yet, Forest really slowed the game down and got a late goal to put it away.

Where has this been? Sunderland has yet to lose at home and have been competitive on the road. This one was not as close as the score suggests.

Yep, As Expected

City sat Haaland, no problem, they got back on track against an improved Wolves side.

Both City goals were in the 1H.

All Leeds in the 1H.

All Everton in the 2H.

Everton hit the cross bar at 85’ that could’ve made it 2-1.

Everton needs to figure out how to play at their new home stadium, they have 0 wins in their last 5 at home.

Quick Kicks

Game On

  • Sorry Gunners fans, but it looks like this title race is gonna go down to match week 38.

  • Man United continues to roll! The EPL is just better when United is better.

  • Cracks in the Arsenal armor.

  • Big wins by West Ham and Forest at the top of the relegation race.

Relegation Tightening

  • Big wins by West Ham and Forest at the top of the relegation race.

Tight Table

  • Feels like a 3 team race to the title - Arsenal, City, Villa.

  • Europe is still up for grabs - United, Chelsea, Liverpool have the pedigree and inside track.

  • Relegation seems to be Wolves and Burnley.

  • Strange to say but 7th place is still not out of relegation potential.

  • Could be a lot of shake up in the table positioning 7 - 18.

Hot Topic 🔥🔥🔥

Ekstraklasa

There are 18 teams on the Polish League, the Ekstraklasa. Lech Poznan are the current champion, winning their 9th title last season.

Why are we talking Polish Soccer? Their league is unbelievably tight.

  • Just 11 points separate the top and bottom of the table.

  • Wisla Plock lead the way - and they have Drawn their last 5 matches.

  • The leader has 7 wins, 9 draws, 2 losses - the same number of wins as the 13th place team and 3 teams have more wins than they do.

  • Most goals - 13th place team.

  • 13 teams have scored more goals than the leaders.

  • The largest team in Poland, Legia Warszawa, sits in second to last.

  • Legia Warszawa, sitting second to last, has allowed just 21 goals, 4th fewest in the league.

  • The 18-team league still has a long way to go sitting just over halfway through the season.

Off Island 🏝️

Let’s Talk About Wrexham

For those catching up - here’s the quick Wrexham story.

  • Storied club in Wales (next to England), less than an hour drive south of Liverpool.

  • Grandfathered into the English Premier League.

  • Fell on hard times as a town and soccer club.

  • Fell out of the top 4 leagues in England.

  • The 2020 season saw Wrexham barely escape relegation to Level 6.

  • In 2021 Rob McElhenney (It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia) and Ryan Reynolds (Dead Pool) bought the Club for $2.5M.

  • R&R invested in player signings, stadium upgrades and global marketing.

  • In addition, they looked to market the story in a series called Welcome to Wrexham.

  • In 2023, the club got promoted from the National League (Level 5) to League 2 (Level 4), a very tough promotion to achieve as only 2 clubs move up each year.

  • In 2024, promoted again from League 2 to League 1.

  • In 2025, promoted again from League 1 to The Championship.

  • Currently sit 6th in the Championship Table.

  • The club is now worth an estimated $175M.

That brings us to this last weekend.

Off the Pitch

It was announced an American finance group called Apollo Sports Capital (ASC) invested $60M in the club. ASC also invests in Spanish side Atletico Madrid. The money is meant to help Wrexham bring their club up to higher league standards. The promotion rise has been so fast that the club needs upgraded facilities, boost their academy of young players and enhance the Women’s team setup.

The Racecourse, Wrexham’s stadium, currently holds roughly 11,000 fans. Construction is in progress for a new stand (seating area) in the stadium that will bring attendance to roughly 18,000.

On the Pitch

Wrexham traveled to Queen Park Rangers where they found themselves down 1-2 at 90 minutes. Then this happened - SOUND ON

The result has now moved Wrexham into a promotion playoff position in the table. IF they were to get promoted to the EPL that would be 4 straight promotions in 4 seasons. Long way to go, here is the Table.

The Welcome to Wrexham Series is really good, worth your time.
