Top Drop Points - Bottom Earn Points

  • Manchester is RED.

  • The top 4 teams in the table combined for 1 goal this match weekend.

  • Liverpool, Arsenal and Villa dropped points at home in matches they should’ve won.

  • Chelsea got three points but were dominated at home by Brentford both on the stat sheet and the eyeball test, but the team who scores more goals wins.

  • Spurs are reeling - losing at home to the Hammers. Nice win for West Ham, but this is on Spurs.

  • Leeds and Sunderland won - extending their position beyond relegation.

Michael Carrick took over managing Man United and it was a memorable one as his side took it to City in his first match after returning to coach the side for a second time. It has been over 10 years since Carrick played for the club.

Does this result say more about United OR City. It was a convincing win for United who scored 2 2H goals. United approach, defend and counter, resulting in just 39% possession.

Encouraging signs of what is possible for United and also for Arsenal who are happy City are dropping points.

Points dropped at home by the Reds.

Liverpool dominated play for the first 60 minutes, but Burnley got a Marcus Edwards goal at 65’ and the tide turned. Burnley hit the woodwork after that and the match was even the rest of the way. Good point for Burnley, not for Liverpool.

Rumor is Xabi Alonso (just fired by Real Madrid) is close to replacing Arnie Slott at Liverpool.

More points dropped by the Gunners.

Felt like a typical Sean Dyche defensive outcome. While the Gunners had more possession and shots it felt like they were not great chances. Forest had no shots on goal and really dug in defensively.

Everton deserved all three points at Villa.

Everton had the much better 1H and then paid it off early in the 2H on a Barry 59’ goal. While Villa had more shots than Everton, many of them came late in the match. No Villa Park magic this time as Everton held on.

Spurs are lost in the wilderness and a big 3 points for the Hammers on the road.

How did Chelsea get all three points.

The visiting Bee’s continued their solid play, dominated the shot statistic and really took it to Chelsea. But Goals win games and the Blues converted on both their shots on goal. A 1H goal by Pedro and a Penalty by Cole Palmer in the 2H was more than enough.

Palace took the lead at the Stadium of Light on a Pino goal at 30’ but The Black Cats struck back at 33’ and a 71’ goal (another late one by Brobbey), gave Sunderland all three points.

Elland Road continues to be a place the Whites play their best at and they deserved all three points getting their goal by Nmecha at 90+1’.

That is five matches in a row with points for Wolves and they are playing well enough to not count them out on the season yet.

This is 4 matches Newcastle has drawn 0-0 on the road this season. Newcastle need to find more consistency if they plan to push for Europe.

The Cherrie’s dominated the 1H, scored at 32’ on a penalty, and carried the momentum into the 2H. BHA took over the play and chances throughout the 2H but could not find the net until 90’.

BHA deserved the three points but settle for one.
