Burnley didn’t have a shot on net in the 1H yet is was an error by Burnley that allowed Bournemouth’s goal. Yet, in the end Burnley found the net off a short corner a great cross and a header to get their first point in 8 games. Both sides are now 8 matches without a win. |
![]() | +263. A great result for the Black Cats. Heading all the way to the South Coast and getting a tough road point. This is what top 10 EPL teams do and Sunderland sit 6th. Sunderland controlled the 1H, BHA the 2H. This was the proper result. |
![]() | +250. Great 1H by Newcastle to go up 2-0 at HT, both by Woltemade at 4’ and 2-0’. Great 2H by Chelsea, scoring right out of the half on a Reece James bender and then again at 66’ by Pedro. A NO CALL on a potential penalty for Newcastle late meant the points were shared. |
![]() 📽️ See CS Video Links Below 🧨 | +183. Palace had been solid defensively, but this one was all Whites scoring twice in each half. Leeds had this kind of performance coming, dominating from start to finish and showing up at Elland Road. |
![]() | +155. Much needed three points for The Cottagers as they kept Forest away from any real good chances. Raul Jimenez scored on a PK at 45+5’ and the 2H was kept scoreless. |
![]() | +115. More of the same for Wolves. A good effort that was closer than the final score shows. Sloppy defense late in the 2H helped Bee’s go up at 63’. They added another at 83’ and while Wolves had more shots, Bee’s were better at finding the net. |
![]() 📽️ See CS Video Links Below 🧨 🟥 = Red Card Impacted the Match 🟥 = Red Card Impacted the Match | +103. WILD GAME. 1 red card changed the match, the second came in the final minutes. At 33’ in a 0-0 game Xavi Simons took a BAD red card stomping on Virgil’s calf. Then at 55’ Alexander Isak put Liverpool in the lead but was injured on the play and had to be carried off. The Red’s went up 2 and up a man but Spurs got one back. 10 minutes of extra time were not enough for Spurs and the second red card didn’t help. |
![]() | -101. Unai Emery did it again. His side found a way to get a lead, sit on the ball and come away with 10 wins in a row. This is Emery’s second time he has won 10+ in a row at Villa. |
![]() | -185. In control early, no flash, doing just enough. Another win for Gunners not bringing their best off a pk goal at 27’. Arsenal did get back to their clean sheet ways. Everton looked like they were going to tie it up in the 2H and should’ve had a penalty but it’s 1-nil to the Arsenal. |
![]() | -508. Two more goals for Haaland but Pep is probably most happy with the clean sheet. City keep getting better this season and seem poised to take Arsenal to the wire. That’s another match where West Ham allowed 2+ goals and never really threatened. |

Wild Match Between Spurs and Liverpool. Watch (70s)
Bad red card on Simons.
Isak with the goal but took what looks like a significant injury.
What a header by Ekitike to put Liverpool up 2.
Richarlison gets Spurs back in it down a man.
A second yellow turns into a red for Romero for a stupid play.
Bumbling and Stumbling. A stumble by Clarets give a goal to Cherries but a poorly defended cross gave Burnley a goal on 4 shots. Watch (60s)
The Whites. Leeds put together a complete performance. Watch (30s).

Interesting Table Dynamics.
Chelsea has scored 1 more goal than Liverpool, 28 to 27. The Blues have allowed just 17 goals while the Reds have allowed 25 goals. YET, Chelsea and Liverpool are tied with 29 points in the table.
Sunderland have scored 19 goals this season, Everton 18 and Forest 17. The bottom four teams in the table 17, 19, 19 and 9 goals - Forest, West Ham, Burnley and Wolves. YET, Sunderland sit 6 in the table and Everton 10.
Just 3 points separate 7th from 15th.
Interesting Data.
Just our 7th 0-0 draw of the season.
Liverpool Striker. Liverpool lost Alexander Isak to an ankle injury that required surgery and it looks like Mo Salah will not be returning after the transfer window. Will leave opportunity for other Liverpool stars but depth could become an issue.

Boxing Day
This year there is just 1 EPL match on Boxing Day, December 26 - Man United v Newcastle. There is a full slate of matches in the Championship. If you follow English Soccer beyond just the matches you would know this has been quite the controversy.
The PL says they are “bound by how the calendar falls” and have to honor 33 weekends of actions, and since Boxing Day falls on a Friday they need to use the weekend for matches. A full slate of matches will return in 2026.
“Locals” say, “A travesty to football tradition and why the Championship remains the best, most competitive division in England.”

Ranking Christmas Movies/Shows - 2025
It’s that time of year….CS ranks the best Christmas movies of all time. Merry Christmas!
#1 It’s A Wonderful Life. Great story telling from Frank Capra, acting from Jimmy Stewart and Donna Reed, it’s actually kinda funny the poster promoting this film is in color as the movie is in black and white. Don’t let its age foll you, while it’s not a CGI action flick this movie is not just best Christmas Movies ever, but one of the best movies of all time. | ![]() 1947 |
#2 A Charlie Brown Christmas. In 1965 the popular Comic Strip Peanuts was on the cover of TIME Magazine and Coca Cola Ad Agency got the idea of doing a Holiday Special and took the idea to Lee Mendelson, who liked to them by saying he and Schulz were already talking about this. He called Shulz and said he needed to write it tomorrow. Schultz, Mendelson and animator Bill Melendez cranked out the story, which was approved and accepted if they could produce the whole thing in 6 months. Vince Guaraldi was added for music along with a children’s choir from St Paul’s Episcopal Church. Coca-Cola had bankrolled the program, and it was already being advertised before CBS saw it, and when they saw it they thought they were “doomed”. There was talk about removing Linus’ reciting of the book of Luke, but Schulz insisted. | ![]() 1965 On December 9, 1965 over half of all televisions had A Charlie Brown Christmas on. The show won a Peabody and an Emmy and since then over 50 “Peanuts” programs were made, mostly for CBS. |
#3 How the Grinch Stole Christmas. (2000) #4 The Santa Clause (1994) #5 How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966) #6 Elf (2003) #7 Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964) #8 Die Hard (1988) - Yes, it is. #9 Klaus (2019) #10 Santa Clause Is Coming To Town (1970) | ![]() 2000 |
Not deserving - Home Alone, The Polar Express, A Christmas Story, Miracle on 34th Street, White Christmas.
The best movie to watch around Christmas that is not a Christmas Movie
The Sound of Music Set in 1938 Salzburg, the threat of Hitler and the Nazi’s was all around Austria. Retired naval officer Captain Georg von Trapp brings in a new governess to look over his seven children. Based on a true story, the movie storyline was created off Maria von Trapp’s memoir, published in 1949. The film rights were purchased for $9,000 (roughly $100k in today’s dollars). At its time the movie was the highest grossing film of all time (close to $300M - a huge number for that day) and won 5 Academy Awards including best picture. | ![]() 1965 The movie first premiered on television in the United States in 1976 on ABC, then for 20 of 22 years on NBC, then back to ABC where it has been shown every year in December. Love the movie and traveling to Austria - you can take the official Sound of Music tour. |
