Winning Hides Gaps. Again, City out to a BIG lead scoring 3 goals in the 1H, but FFC snuck a goal just before HT to stay in it down 1-3. City then scored two out of the half to put it away, or did they. Up 5-1 City took their foot off the gas. FFC made it 5-2 at 57’, 5-3 at 72’ and 5-4 at 78’ and gave themselves a chance down the stretch but couldn’t get the equalizer.

Biggest takeaway, it is very UN-Pep like to have a side give goals and games away like they have this season. Lots of “game tape” for Pep to coach on.

Goals Goals Goals. BHA jumped all over Villa on the South Coast going up 2-0 before the half hour mark but Villa got 2 Ollie Watkins goals before HT, one at 45+7’ to get Villa back in the game. Villa then scored the first two goals of the 2H to go up 4-2 before giving up a late goal to make it a close finish.

Sawwwwft. Newcastle had the better chances, but Spurs captain and center forward Romero converted on the only two shots on goal by his side and it’s a nice point for Thomas Frank on the road in the North.

Newcastle had their chances and took advantage of a very soft Penalty call against Spurs that Gordon converted at 86’ but it was quite a goal by Romero at 90+5’ to at least stop the Spurs slide.

Clean Sheets 🧹🧹🧹🧹

In Control. While Liverpool Chelsea and City were stumbling and bumbling around the pitch mid-week the Gunners went out, brought their lunch pail, and shut the door on the Bee’s. It’s another clean sheet for Arsenal and a dominating performance against a side who have been exceeding expectations.

FIRST EVER. Everton get their first EVER win at Bournemouth in the EPL. Now, the Cherries have not been in the PL as long anywhere near as often as Everton but still, a late goal by Jack Grealish put Everton ahead - and if you score a goal and keep a CS you win.

Great bounce back by Everton. Bournemouth have officially hit a slump.

Posts. Burnley owned the stat sheet and had the best chances including a shot off the hardware that just missed but it was Palace scoring on one of their three shots to steal all three points at Turf Moor.

Another solid performance from Burnley without any points to show for it.

Great outcome for Palace, stealing three points on the road and keeping a clean sheet.

Dyche Effect. Heading across the midlands to Molineaux and getting an earned three points is a good result for the Trees. Changing managers seems to be having an immediate impact for Forest. Wolves, not so much. While they are playing better that is now five straight matches without a goal, and seven straight losses.

Closer Than the Score Suggests 🤏🤏

Gotta Score. Tree’s had great chances, outshot BHA, and had a 9 to 2 advantage on corners. Yet to win you gotta score, and that is what BHA did to end the 1H and again the 2H to take all three points.

TBD. Great effort by Wolves who had great chances yet couldn’t convert. Villa started to get the chances in the 2H and did convert at 67’ and then held on for the win.

Not Home Field Advantage 🏟️

Hmmmm. Man United used to handle business at Old Trafford. Now they let teams they should beat hang around and take points away.

United took a lead at and looked like they would take all three points, but West Ham found the net at 83’ to take a point on the road.

What 2 Look 4 👀- Match Week 15

  • 7.2.1 Match Week. 7 Saturday, 2 Sunday, 1 Monday.

Saturday

  • 3 Villa +318 v 1 Arsenal -110 SAT 630a - The two hottest teams meet up in Birmingham at Villa Park. Villa started the EPL season with just 3 points and 1 goal in their first 5 matches. Over their next 9 matches, 19 goals and 24 points (8W 1L), and now sit just 6 points behind the Gunners at the top of the table. Villa’s Ollie Watkins has 6 goals in 10 EPL appearance against Arsenal, more than against any other team he’s played (9 BHA). Gunner’s took care of both West London opponents over the last week and look to take another step forward in a title run campaign. Arsenal have 29W 11L 14D in their last 54 matchups.

  • 12 Newcastle -358 v 19 Burnley +925 SAT 9a - Let’s talk Burnley’s away form - not.good - losing 7 of 8 in the PL and allowing 2+ goals in each match. Add to that the fact St James’ Park usually gets the best out of Newcastle and it could be a looooong day for the Clarets.

  • 2 City -408 v 6 Sunderland +1050 SAT 9a - City had a 2-goal lead over Leeds and a 3-goal lead over FFC and allowed both sides to get back into the match, and while they won 3-2 and 5-4, it is very un-Pep like of them. The Black Cats continue to surprise and get great results but will be a TALL task to get a result at the Etihad.

  • 10 Everton +119 v 16 Forest +250 SAT 9a - A fun matchup of two sides looking to get back in the Europe conversation AND you have Forest manager Dyche returning to Everton after an ok run there that ended last season. Last year Forest won both matches in the City of Liverpool (over Everton and Liverpool). Everton have won their last two road matches and got drilled at their last home match.

  • 11 Tottenham +126 v 13 Brentford +205 Sat 9a - LONDON DERBY (North v West) - Thiago has been sneaky great for Brentford. The Brazilian has 11 goals on the season, second most in the PL and is a big reason the Bee’s have “surprised”. Spurs have been disappointing and the “noise” coming from the dressing room is concerning for Thomas Frank. Spurs home form has been an issue too, just 1W 4L 2D.

  • 14 Bournemouth +220 v 4 Chelsea +115 SAT 9a - The Cherries have gone bad while the Blues are blue after tough runs of late. Bournemouth have allowed just 5 goals at home this season, 16 on the road. Chelsea fans are not happy, have been hearing some die hards proclaim “Chelsea are bottom 6 in the PL right now”. yikes, even tho this sit 4th in the table. The reality is this - The Cherries are one of the smallest teams who have been overachieving in their 11,286 seat stadium with great management. Chelsea are one of the biggest clubs in the world with tons of resources who are trying to find the right combination and team chemistry. Will be a fun one on the South Coast.

  • 17 Leeds +315 v 9 Liverpool -124 SAT 1130a - The Whites are still celebrating their big take down of the Blues mid-week but they will need to ride that wave into the weekend as a wounded Red’s head to Elland Road. Liverpool have lost 7 of their last 11 away matches, more than the previous 45. Only FFC and Wolves have more away losses since April. In the last 10 matchups Liverpool have lost 1 time to Leeds.

Sunday

  • 7 BHA -177 v 18 West Ham +442 SUN 8a - The Seagulls have scored 17 2H goals this season, more than any other PL team, including 10 in the final 15 minutes. Nuno has the Hammer’s playing better, but are gonna need results or relegation is a real possibility.

  • 15 Fulham +158 v 5 Palace +179 SUN 1030a - LONDON DERBY (West v South) - Palace continue to thrive under Oliver Glasner and sit 5th in the table. FFC on the other hand are winless in their last 6 and wasted a 4 goal performance against City, allowing 5. Palace is doing this with excellent defense and timely scoring. Their 11 goals allowed this PL season are second lowest in the league (7 Arsenal).

Monday

  • 20 Wolves +310 v 8 Man United -135 MON 2p - 5 games and counting without a goal for Wolves and 7 straight losses. Over the last couple years United has done a good job of playing up or down to their competition. United should dominate this match but don’t be surprised if this one is in doubt when it reaches extra time.

Hot Topic 🔥🔥🔥

CS Quick Hits

  • It’s mind boggling watching the “Big” Clubs get out played consistently by small clubs, in particular at home. As examples, Spurs have 1W 3L 2D at home this season, United have 4W 2L 1D at Old Trafford.

  • Defense matters. Palace and Sunderland have scored 18 goals so far and sit 5th and 6th in the table. 8 clubs sit below them in the table but have scored between 19-24 goals. BUT Palace and Sunderland have been good defensively allowing 11 and 14 goals while those other 8 teams all have allowed between 18-24 goals.

  • Unless they make some moves talent wise, Wolves are heading down.

  • Of the recently promoted clubs, Sunderland and Leeds look like they will challenge to stay up. Burnley is not looking like that.

  • This Table feels very very tight - not sighting specific data - but heading into week 15 there are 11 teams between 24 and 19 points, 4th through 14th place.

  • Haaland (City) scored his 100th goal in 111 matches. 30 matches faster than any other player.

  • Don’t recognize the stadium the World Cup is playing in? It’s not you, it’s FIFA, who does not allow advertisers that are not FIFA advertisers. So, for example, Jerry Dome in Dallas is called AT&T Stadium. Not during the world cup, it will be called Dallas Stadium with no AT&T anywhere.

The 2026 World Cup Draw

TODAY - Friday, December 5, 11AM CST. LIVE from the Kennedy Center in Washington DC, our nations capital.

In the USA FOX will have the broadcast. Here is a link for those watching in other countries.

HOW THE DRAW WORKS

There are 42 teams currently qualified with 6 spots remaining. Those 6 spots will be filled via a playoff happening next March.

  • The 48 teams are ranked top to bottom and then split into FOUR pots, 12 teams per pot.

  • Pot 1 has the 3 host teams (USA, Mexico, Canada) and the remaining top 9 ranked teams in the world.

  • Pot 2 has the next top 12 ranked teams

  • Pot 3 the top 12 ranked teams after that.

  • Pot 4 has the remaining 6 ranked teams PLUS the 6 teams yet to qualify.

The idea of the draw

  • Pick 1 team from each pot and place them into one of TWELVE - FOUR TEAM Groups - Group A, Group B…..Group L. The draw will then fill out this grid.

  • It has already been determined that Mexico is in group A, Canada group B and USA in group D.

  • The Date, Time and Location of the matches, for example Team A2 v Team A3 has already been determined.

  • The Group stage consists of 72 matches, each team in a group playing each other - winner gets 3 points, a draw is 1 point. Tie break is goal difference. Top 2 in a group advance PLUS the next 8 best third place teams based on points and goal difference.

Match Week 15 Picks

THEME - Third match in 7-10 days for each team means tired leg for teams without depth and mental tiredness overall. Taking overs and Both Teams To Score where applicable.

Overs

Bournemouth v Chelsea Over 2.5 goals AND Both Teams To Score -170. $34

Cherries are better at home, Chelsea have enough firepower to find the net. Who scores more, don’t know but expect this busy run of matches may mean tired legs and opportunities for Chelsee on the road. Someone wins 2-1 or this is 2-2.

Tottenham v Brentford Over 2.5 goals AND Both Teams To Score -142. $28

Why trust spurs at home. Just can’t trust Bee’s to win on the road either. Would like to bet Bee’s but not good enough odds. Instead, both sides will score and at least one side will get more than 1.

City v Sunderland to score 4 OR 5 total goals +177. $10

City v Sunderland to score 6+ goals +580. $10

Expecting over 3.5 goals in this match, instead of betting over 3.5 going to try this approach, $20 bet split between 2 bets knowing I will lose one. Over 3.5 goals is +122 that pays $24 on a $20 bet. Splitting the bet up means a match that goes over 3.5 goals either pays $8 or $48, winning the $10 bet above but losing one ($18-$10 OR $58-10).

BHA to score more goals in 2H than 1H +128. $20

This is what they’ve been doing, scoring in the 2H, 17 goals to 5 1H goals, and 2 of those 1H goals were on the weekend.

Winners

Man United to Win AND Mbeumo to Score +350. $20

Crazy to trust United to go on the road and win but Wolves have been lost, so taking United to have the depth to handle the road matchup. Also, expecting United’s top scorer to find the net as United may score several. Taking the better odds of both to happen.

Palace to Win at FFC +177. $20

Just the better side who has a defense that travels. Like the trip to Burnley, expecting Palace to win a low scoring match.

Newcastle to Win v Burnley by 2+ goals -125. $25

Burnley has been conceding 2+ goals on the road all season.

Everton to Win v Forest +119. $20

Just like Everton to bring their best to Hill-Dickinson Stadium and the crowd will take their side to a one goal win over a highly emotional return of Sean Dyche.

Leeds to Win v Liverpool +315. $20

Sure feels like Liverpool should be favored by much more. Normally would want this to be +700. Why is it so close. Exactly.

Sunderland to Win at City +1075. $10

Why not.

Longshots of the week

Sunderland, Leeds, Newcastle to Win +5042. $1

BHA, City, Newcastle to Win +146. $10

Thiago (Brentford) to score +118. $10

Watkins (Villa) to score +226. $10

Thiago, Watkins to score +627. $5
