Inter Milan and Barcelona staged a classic Champions League semi-final. Last week in Barcelona the sides drew 3-3. This week in Milan, Barcelona held a 3-2 lead (6-5 on aggregate) into extra time. Then, Milan turned the tables as Francesco Acerbi tied it up at 3 at 90+3’. Crazy scenes as the Acerbi scored his first ever European goal at the age of 37. Watch

Acerbi - started in lower leagues until age 22, beat cancer, lost his father and had issues with alcohol, played for 10 different Italian clubs - and seems to spend a lot of his salary on tattoo parlors.

What 2 Look 4 👀- Match Week 36

Top of Europe on the Line 🏆🏆🏆🏆

  • Southampton +1400 v Man City -549 SAT 9a - This should be all City and it’s possible City will keep the pedal down in hopes of closing the goal differential gap on Arsenal. While second place doesn’t mean much Pep has City rolling and will be looking to use this run as a springboard into next season.

  • Newcastle +110 v Chelsea +210 SUN 6a - See Above.

  • Bournemouth +145 v Aston Villa +170 SAST 1130a - Knowing either Chelsea or Newcastle will not get three points means Villa will close the gap on top 5 with a win. The Cherries have their own goal of getting into Europe with a top 8 or 9 finish.

  • Forest -300 v Leicester City +800 SUN 815a - TBD.

Next Level of Europe on the Line🌍🌍🌍🌍🌍

  • Bournemouth +145 v Aston Villa +170 SAST 1130a - See Above.

  • Ipswich Town +380 v Brentford -160 SAT 9a - Bees are buzzing with just one loss in their last 7 but a trip to Tractor Boys will require a solid effort to stay in the hunt for an 8 or 9 finish.

  • Wolves +170 v BHA +150 SAT 9a - BHA will need to bring their best effort at Molineaux against a side that has been playing their best soccer of the season. Any points for BHA keep them in the 8 or 9 place finishing spot.

  • Fulham -115 v Everton +320 SAT 9a - News of the Cottager’s manager making a move to Saudi Arabia is not sitting well at Craven Cottage. FFC need to win out to have a realistic shot at Europe.

  • Tottenham +160 v Palace +155 SUN 815a - 9 points over the last 3 for Palace would put them on 55 points and an outside shot of finishing 9 or 10.

Nothing on the Line 🍰🍰

  • Liverpool +105 v Arsenal +260 SUN 1030a - Biggest question is will Arsenal recover from being knocked out of the CL. The Gunners do have goal differential over Man City or it’s possible they could drop out of second. Maybe they don’t want to finish 2nd three years in a row.

  • Man United +100 v West Ham +260 SUN 815a - If you can’t win the league or make Europe might as well finish ahead of 2 Big 6 clubs and win a win the Hammers have a chance to do that.

FIFA - Beatch Soccer World Cup 2025

FIFA is the “World Governing Body” of Soccer. FIFA takes on many roles in establishing rules, advancing soccer worldwide, innovation like VAR and turf etc. In addition, FIFA has all the administrative “stuff” that big organizations do which we won’t highlight here.

What most people know FIFA for is Tournament Organization/Development. Here are the upcoming tournaments you may or may not be aware of.

  • Club World Cup - 2025 USA

  • Beach Soccer World Cup - 2025 Seychelles

  • U20 Men’s World Cup - 2025 Chile

Champions League

Often hear about how a hot goalkeeper can take an NHL team to the Stanley Cup Title. In both CL matchups that also seemed to be the case as Inter’s Yann Sommer and PSG’s Donnarumma were major reasons their teams are advancing.

Of course, CS is going to highlight the Goalkeepers - Watch these short videos! Who was better…..

  • Yann Sommer - Inter Milan v Barcelona - WATCH

  • Donnarumma - PSG - WATCH

  • CLASSIC Semi-Final - Inter Milan 4-3 (7-6 aggregate) Barcelona.

    • ABSOLUTE CINEMA (thx Golazo!) - Watch here for a GREAT @CBSSportsGolazo breakdown of all the great plays on X. If you don’t want to click and watch - here’s the storyline:

      • Tied at 3-3 coming into the match, Inter scores 2 1H goals to take a 5-3 lead.

      • Even so, Barcelona scored 3 2H goals to take the lead.

      • With 5’ of extra time, Inter created brilliance at 90+3’ to tie it up.

      • In a heavy downpour Inter took the lead at 99’ and then held on.

  • Missing Striker. Arsenal has been knocking on the door for a title but falling up just short and it seemed this year all the pieces were in place - but some said they would need a Striker to get over the hump. Arteta and the Gunners stood pat with their current Strikers, incurred some injuries and fell short of their trophy goals again this season. Some will say signing a Striker would’ve made all the difference, and this Semi-Final loss may be Exhibit 1.

    • PSG 2-1 (3-1 aggregate) Arsenal.

Europa League

  • Man United was up 3-0 and hosted Athletic. Athletic got to within 1-3 at HT but it was all United in the 2H as they went on to win 4-1 (7-1 aggregate).

  • Spurs beat Bodo Glimt 2-0 in Finland and will move on to the Finals with a 5-1 aggregate.

  • All EPL Final.

UEFA Conference League

  • Swedish side Djurgarden went to Chelsea down 4-1 and Chelsea scored once and controlled the game wining 1-0 and moving on 5-1.

  • Real Betis got a goal extra time to draw Fiorentina 2-2 and advance on an aggregate 4-3.
