• Goodison Classic. Rescheduled Merseyside Derby. In a rescheduled match from MW15 Liverpool and Everton Drew 2-2 at Goodison Park, the last time the Merseyside Derby will be played there as Everton move to Bramley-Moore Dock.

  • Looked like all three points were going to Liverpool, until they weren’t when James Tarkowski sent the home crowd into a frenzy at 90+8’. AND - the GREAT Peter Drury on the call - this was awesome.

  • But that wasn’t it - after this was a fight, 2 red cards and a manager ejection for an aggressive handshake as Liverpool Manager Arne Slott was sent off.

  • And shocker, Michael Oliver was the referee in charge of the match.

• Champions League. See Off Island 🏝️🏝️🏝️ below. While the top 8 teams are “resting up” the home-away round of 16 matches are being played.

• Match Week 25 Results. For all results, see Current Situation 📈📉 below, but here are a couple highlights.

  • Chelsea. Yikes, 2 wins in 9, this time a 0-3 loss at BHA who had been struggling.

  • Tractor Boys. Great point at Villa, and for Villa, more points lost.

  • Everton. Since David Moyes took over the Toffee’s no other team has taken more points in the PL, 13 points for Moyes in 5 matches. For comparison, Ruben Amorim has led United to 14 points in his 14 matches. Everton how sit 14 in the table.

  • Spurs and United. Two big clubs sitting in teh bottom half of the table, Spurs shut out United to jump to 12th while United fell below Palace, Everton and Spurs to now sith 15th, just 2 points ahead of West ham.

• MW 29. Liverpool will be playing in the Carabao Cup Final March 16 which means their Match Week 29 match at Aston Villa needs to be rescheduled. The decision was to move it forward and that match will be played WEDNESDAY February 19.

• Quick Turn Around. MW26 & MW27 will be this weekend and mid-week.

Current Situation 📈📉

• Liverpool have a 7-point lead with 13 matches to play, still 39 points in play. It’s really a 2-team race. If Arsenal were to win all 13, they would finish on 92 points. That means Liverpool would need 33 points to secure the title.

• Just one team in the PL era (since 1992) have lost a 7 point lead this late in the season, the 1995 Newcastle side.

• The race for Europe is tightening up as Forest, Chelsea, Newcastle and Villa are dropping points. IF Forest and Bournemouth were to take Europe spots that would be an “A” season for them.

• Four team race for relegation although, as we’ve seen with Everton, if one side gets hot and West Ham continues to struggle it could get interesting.

Here is Leed’s scoring 2 goals, one at 77’ and another at 90+5’ to come back to take all three points against promotion contender Sunderland. Leeds get the home win at Elland Road.
